The bayonet is dated in 1918 by Springfield Arsenal serial numbered 971016 (correct for production in 1918). However, it was personalized into a really lethal fighting knife. The bayonet has been filled. The blade has been sharpened and contoured and measures just over 10". The blood gutter groove is engraved: TOM REESE 5477
